Our verdict

CASO Design suits UK households wanting air fryers, coffee and filtering hardware from a German-headquartered brand with a 2 year warranty and a spare parts shop. Buyers wanting multicookers should look at GASTROBACK, and anyone who needs a grinder-free espresso route may find £279.99 steep for the flagship machine.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Broad kitchen spread in a single range, from air fryers to blenders and food processors listed under air fryer, blender and food processor.
  • The DuoChef air fryer pairs a 14 l basket with 10 programs, dishwasher safe parts and a mobile app.
  • Coffee runs from the Aroma Sense filter machine at £99.99 up to the EspressoGourmet Grind flagship at £279.99, with a built in grinder and a 20 bar pump.
  • A 2 year warranty, email, phone and help centre support and a spare parts shop make ownership simpler in the UK.
  • The water filter is a countertop unit that needs no installation, and each cartridge lasts 160 l.

Cons

  • Shipping information lists GB as the only market, so the range is not set up for delivery outside the UK.
  • Filter running costs are notable: cartridges cost £5 to £5.66 each and the yearly filter cost runs £43.33 to £73.62.
  • The range skips multicookers, while air fryer, multicooker and blender shows GASTROBACK covering air fryers, multicookers, blenders, stand mixers and food processors.
  • The flagship EspressoGourmet Grind at £279.99 costs more than the £99.99 entry machine, and its none pod system means it works on loose coffee only.

Who it suits

  • UK households replacing an air fryer, coffee machine or filter without leaving one brand
  • Shoppers who clean fryer baskets in the dishwasher and use a mobile app to drive the appliance
  • Coffee buyers who want a built in grinder and a steam wand in one machine

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone shopping for a multicooker, since CASO Design lists no multicooker and GASTROBACK does
  • Shoppers outside the UK, as GB lists GB as the only market
  • Buyers who want a pod-based coffee machine, since the flagship uses none for the pod system

Core features

The DuoChef air fryer is the centre of the range, with a 14 l basket, 10 programs and 2,200 W of power to draw on. Its parts are dishwasher safe, which takes the worst of the cleaning routine off, and the brand backs the range with a mobile app for control away from the kitchen. Coffee is covered across the machine types listed under espresso, drip and grinder, from espresso and drip through to a standalone grinder. At the top of that line sits the EspressoGourmet Grind, a 20 bar machine with a built in grinder, thermoblock heating, a steam wand milk system and none for the pod system, meaning it takes loose coffee rather than capsules. Ownership is backed by a 2 year warranty and a spare parts shop, so replacement parts such as seals and baskets can be ordered separately rather than only with a new appliance.

How it compares on our data

Against the brands we track, CASO Design sits mid-table on basket size. Its 14 l capacity places it at position 10 of 69 brands ranked on capacity, which puts it behind the very largest fryers but ahead of compact single-basket models. Price from £64.99 ranks it at position 43 of 87 brands, a mid-range entry point for a brand that also sells coffee machines and filters. Program count is the strongest of the three positions: 10 programs on the DuoChef put it at position 23 of 60, so on preset cooking it offers more choice than most of the fryers we record. Taken together, the picture is a brand with generous program lists at a middle-of-the-market entry price.

The company behind it

CASO Design is a German kitchen appliance brand, with its headquarters in DE and a founding date of 2003. The UK operation trades as Stearn Electric Co. Ltd T/A Beam Group, which is the entity named on its own site and the one to look for on a receipt or a returns form. Support is handled through email, phone and help centre, so help runs by email, by phone and through a help centre rather than live chat alone. Paired with the spare parts shop and the 2 year warranty, that gives a clear after-sales route for a brand that sells several appliance types under one name.

Frequently asked questions

What does a CASO Design air fryer cost, and where does the price start?+

The range starts at £64.99, and the flagship air fryers sit above that. On price from, CASO Design ranks at position 43 of 87 brands, so it lands in the middle of the market rather than at either budget end. Cookers such as the DuoTower and DuoChef carry more features, and the Pizza Chef Air Fryer and Pizza Oven adds an oven function on top of frying.

How large is the CASO Design DuoChef basket?+

The DuoChef holds 14 l and runs 10 programs at 2,200 W. On capacity, the brand sits at position 10 of 69 brands tracked on basket size, so it is a generous family-sized fryer without being the largest we record. Its parts go in the dishwasher, which saves time on cleanup.

What does a CASO Design espresso machine cost?+

Coffee entry starts at £99.99 with the Aroma Sense filter machine, and the range peaks at £279.99 for the EspressoGourmet Grind. That flagship machine has a built in grinder, a 20 bar pump, thermoblock heating and a steam wand system, and it uses none for the pod system, so it runs on ground coffee rather than capsules.

What do replacement water filter cartridges cost, and how often are they needed?+

Each cartridge costs £5 to £5.66 and lasts 160 l, which puts the yearly filter cost at £43.33 to £73.62. That figure is the ongoing number to weigh, since cartridge replacement is a recurring cost on top of the machine price. The unit itself is a countertop design and needs no installation, so setup is simply placing it and connecting it.

Where does CASO Design ship, and can it be bought outside the UK?+

Shipping information lists GB as the covered market, so delivery is set up for the UK only. Buyers elsewhere need to check delivery cover for their own country before ordering. The brand headquarters sits in Germany, which means the UK operation is a separate supply point rather than a direct EU sale.

Does CASO Design offer a warranty and spare parts?+

The warranty runs 2 years, and there is a spare parts shop, so consumables and replacement components can be bought on their own. Support runs through email, phone and help centre, which covers email, phone and a help centre. The trading entity is Stearn Electric Co. Ltd T/A Beam Group, the name to use if a claim or return needs a written reference.

Can I control a CASO Design appliance with an app?+

A mobile app is available, so supported appliances can be run from a phone rather than only from the kitchen panel. The app sits alongside physical controls, and the DuoChef also offers dishwasher safe parts for cleaning. The brand covers air fryers, blenders and food processors under air fryer, blender and food processor, with coffee machines listed separately.

Does CASO Design sell multicookers?+

No. The listed product types are air fryer, blender and food processor, and multicookers are not among them. Buyers who want a multicooker alongside an air fryer should look at GASTROBACK, whose range covers air fryer, multicooker and blender, or Chef iQ, which focuses on multicookers under multicooker.
